Yoga Skills for Good Mental Health teaches breathing and relaxation techniques that help to regulate the nervous system where anxiety and depression reside. In addition, meditation and mindfulness techniques are integral to the practice and match up with an intention. The intention for each practice determines the postures and poses which are in sync with affirming a good mental health skill or strategy and will include thinking exercises that focus the mind intentionally. As with all yoga practices, awareness is of significant benefit to mental health and in this practice, awareness is strengthened in ways that match up with the intention. This is important for helping the brain integrate and assimilate the practices, so they can be utilized off the mat in daily life.

 

Sessions are 55 minutes  and will focus on a specific intention for improving your thinking through yoga poses and skills taught.  This is not a fitness-type practice, but being able to get from standing to the ground easily is necessary.


Single session ($10). I can also bill to some insurances, if you have a mental health referral or are a client of mine.

Learn to pay attention and gain awareness and through that awareness gain agency and wisdom in navigating life’s challenges. You will actively participate and commit to a practice that utilizes your strengths to improve your mental well-being.  You will learn to employ effort and action to move toward health, inner peace, and overall well-being.
